Consultation: One question, a senior answer, up to two hours
For when you need an outside opinion on one thing, not a project: which of two directions to build, why a flow loses people, whether to hire a designer or a developer, what an AI-built app needs before launch. $250, up to two hours, on a call.
To start, email andriy.dsgn@gmail.com with your question and a link to the product.
Good questions to bring
- We have two directions and one team. Which one, and why?
- This flow loses people. Where, and what would you change first?
- Should our next hire be a designer or a developer?
- Our app was built with Lovable or Cursor. What does it need before real users?
- Is our design system worth fixing, or should we start again?
- We are building an AI agent. How much should it do without asking?
How to prepare
- Send the question in one or two sentences, and a link to the product.
- Add what you have already tried, and the constraint that matters most: time, money, people.
- If there is a product or material to look at, I look at it before the call. If I know nothing about the business yet, the call starts there.
What you leave with
An answer, the reasoning behind it, and the next step. After the call, written recommendations; how much depends on the question. If it turns out to need a project, I tell you which one and what it costs, and you decide.
When a call is not enough
When the question is really about the whole product, a one-week Product Diagnosis, from $900, answers it in writing. When it is about how the product holds together, a Consistency Review, from $700. All the options: Services.
Questions founders ask
How much does a consultation cost?
$250, up to two hours.
How do I book one?
Email andriy.dsgn@gmail.com with your question and a link to the product, and we agree a time.
Can you look at the product before the call?
Usually, if you send the link with the question. When there is nothing to look at yet, the call starts with the business.
Do I get anything in writing?
Yes: recommendations after the call. Their length depends on the question.
How is a consultation different from a UX audit?
An audit reads the whole product and ends in a written report. A consultation answers one question on a call, with written recommendations after it.
How is it different from fractional work?
A consultation is one question, once. Fractional product design is an agreed number of days a week, with ownership of what ships.
Do you work across time zones?
Yes. I work remotely, with teams in different countries and time zones.
Other ways I can help
- Product Diagnosis, from $900: one week, a written plan: keep, cut, change, next.
- UX audit, from $700: three reviews, and what each checks.
- Fractional product design, from $8,000 a month: a senior designer, part-time.
