Midjourney architecture prompts: An AI content experiment on YouTube Shorts
In September 2024 I tested whether one person with Midjourney and a tight visual brief could produce a series consistent enough to run as a YouTube Shorts channel. The subject was ultra-modern luxury interiors carved into cliffs. Below are the six prompts, word for word, what stayed fixed between them, and what happened when the shorts went out.
The experiment
The question was practical: whether a visual world written down once could carry a whole series. I treated it like a product, with a defined niche, a repeatable production process and a public release.
The niche was narrow on purpose. Interiors carved into white and warm stone cliffs, in the language of brands like Bvlgari: marble, polished stone, velvet, gold. A tight visual world is easier to keep consistent, and easier for an audience to recognize.
A brief before prompts
Every room shared three layers of description. Materials and textures: marble, white stone, gold, velvet. Furniture and decor: plush sofas, velvet chairs, marble tables, chandeliers. The setting: a room nestled into a cliff above the ocean or the mountains, in soft daylight, with tropical greenery and white drapes.
Writing the brief first turned prompting into assembly. Each room reused the same layers and changed only what the room needed.
The prompts
The prompts are unedited. They carry no Midjourney parameters; the renders are 9:16 portraits, 1632 by 2912 pixels, the vertical format Shorts use.

Consistency did more for the series than any single prompt. Counted across the six prompts above:
- In all six: a cliff, marble, and tropical plants or flowers.
- In five: “ultra-modern luxury” to open (the pool prompt says “luxurious”), large glass windows, white drapes, and a white rock or white stone cliff (the living room’s is warm-colored stone).
- In four: soft daylight, gold, velvet.
- In three: a closing line on the photography, “award-winning photography” or “architectural photography”. The word hotel also appears in only three.
- Per room: the furniture that makes the room readable at a glance: an infinity pool, a freestanding tub, a king-sized bed, a stone island.
Soft daylight lets the rough cliff and the refined interior read as one place. And because each prompt describes a whole room, several pieces of furniture and the view at once, Midjourney tends toward wide shots that show the space.
What happened
The series ran on Metamorphic, a YouTube Shorts channel of AI-generated houses and villas. Twenty shorts went out between 10 September and 18 October 2024. The first, a cliffside palace, passed 300,000 views. None of the other nineteen reached 35,000, including two more cliffside shorts. This one, a ten-second cut of the stills above, went out on 21 September and has about 24,000 views; it is on YouTube. The channel has about 3,600 subscribers. The counts are from September 2026.
The best result came first and nothing after it came close, so the numbers say little about which choice worked. Twenty shorts are too few to separate the setting from the titles, or from luck.
The renders reached a high level of realism, and the cliff setting gave a familiar luxury style a look of its own. The lesson reaches past images: when generation is this cheap, the work moves to the brief and to the rules that keep a series consistent.
